PWD places 107 AEs of Civil Wing as I/c AEEs
by Northlines · NorthlinesJammu Tawi: The Public Works (R and B) Department has ordered the placement of over 100 engineers as In-charge Assistant Executive Engineers (Civil) on a stop-gap basis across Jammu and Kashmir.
As per Government Order No. 120-PW (R and B) of 2026 dated April 10, the decision has been taken under provisions of the JK Engineering (Gazetted) Service Recruitment Rules, 1978 (amended vide SRO 297 of 2006), and will remain in force until regular appointments are made from the eligible quota.

Additionally, diploma holders Anil Kumar, Iqbal Singh Sudan and Sushil Kumar have also been included in the arrangement.
The government clarified that the placements are purely temporary and on a stop-gap basis, without conferring any right to regular promotion. The arrangement will remain subject to recruitment rules, eligibility conditions, and outcomes of any pending court cases.
The order further states that the arrangement can be reversed without prior notice if any adverse report emerges or if a superior claim from eligible candidates is established.
All officers will continue at their current postings until further orders, and eligible officials will receive charge allowance as per rules issued by the Finance Department.
