UAPA Case: Police Conduct Raids at Multiple Locations in Baramulla
by Northlines · NorthlinesSrinagar, July 9: Police on Thursday conducted searches at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir‘s Baramulla district as part of an ongoing investigation into a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
According to a police spokesperson, the raids were carried out in connection with a case registered at Baramulla Police Station under Section 13 of the UAPA, dealing with unlawful activities, and Section 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) relating to aggravated threats.
Searches were conducted at the residences of Faraz Ashraf Gojri of Iqbal Colony, Waseem Ali Kar of Kanli Bagh, Tanveer Ahmad Mir alias Kaka Mir of Tawheed Gunj, presently residing at Gulnar Park, Azad Gunj, and Waseem Hussain Mir of Khawajabagh Jetty in Baramulla.
During the operation, police seized four mobile phones and one laptop. The electronic devices have been secured for forensic examination to support the ongoing investigation.
Police said the searches were conducted in accordance with legal provisions and in the presence of executive magistrates and independent witnesses.
The spokesperson said the proceedings are part of Baramulla Police’s continued efforts to investigate offences related to unlawful activities in a professional, lawful and transparent manner while safeguarding public order and national security.
