J&K: 3 Arrested With Explosives, Hizbul Posters in Shopian
by Northlines · NorthlinesSrinagar, Jun 19: Three persons were arrested after security forces allegedly recovered explosive substances and posters of the banned Hizbul Mujahideen outfit from their possession in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said on Friday.
The arrests were made during an operation in the Pudsoo area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday night. Police recovered two hand grenades, 2.5 kg of PEK (plastic explosive Kirkee), four mobile phones and posters related to the terrorist outfit from the trio.
The accused were identified as Aizaz Ahmad Khanday, Arbaz Ahmad Mir and Nasir Ahmad Dar, all residents of Begama village in Shopian. Officials said the three had been missing from their homes since May 31.
Further investigation into the case is underway. (Agencies)
