NEW DELHI, Aug 20: Authorities have removed unauthorised structures, including queue-management barriers, erected outside the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, official sources said on Thursday.

The structures, including queue liners installed near the commission’s visa section, were located on a lane outside the approved boundary of the diplomatic compound and were removed as part of the action, the sources said.

The development comes days after Pakistan removed security barricades and parking poles placed outside the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.

The latest action comes amid heightened attention to arrangements and structures outside the diplomatic missions of India and Pakistan in their respective capitals.

The authorities’ action was carried out in the area outside the approved boundary of the Pakistan High Commission, the sources said.

The developments involving the two diplomatic missions have taken place in quick succession, with both sides removing structures placed outside their respective compounds. (Agencies)
