J&K: Chinar Cafe Gutted In Twin LPG Cylinder Blasts In Poonch

POONCH, Sept 12: A newly opened Chinar Cafe in Mandi town of Poonch district was completely gutted in a massive fire triggered by twin LPG cylinder explosions early Friday morning.

Officials said the incident occurred around 3 to 4 am when two LPG cylinders inside the closed cafe exploded with loud blasts, triggering a massive blaze.

The eatery was completely destroyed, with its structure, furniture and other belongings reduced to ashes. No loss of life was reported as the cafe was closed when the incident occurred.

Hearing the explosions, local residents rushed to the spot and informed the police and Fire and Emergency Services. Fire tenders reached the site and, after hectic efforts, brought the blaze under control and prevented it from spreading to adjoining shops.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the cylinder explosions and the subsequent fire. (Agencies)
