J&K: 1,512 Armed Police Personnel Promoted
by Northlines · NorthlinesSrinagar, Jun 30: In a major move aimed at strengthening the Armed Wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and boosting the morale of its personnel, the Armed Police Headquarters on Tuesday issued promotion orders for 1,512 police personnel across various ranks.
The promotions were approved by IGP, Head of Armed Wing J&K, V.K. Birdi after the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) constituted under his chairmanship.
According to the orders, 25 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) have been promoted to the rank of Sub-Inspectors (SIs), 746 Selection Grade Constables (SgCTs) have been elevated as Head Constables (HCs), while 741 Constables (CTs) have been promoted to Selection Grade Constables.
The Departmental Promotion Committee included DIG IR Jammu Nisha Nathyal, DIG Armed Kashmir Maqsood-ul-Zaman, senior Commandants of JKAP battalions, the Chief Personnel Officer of APHQ, representatives from the Police Headquarters and other senior officers.
Congratulating the promotees, IGP V.K. Birdi extended his best wishes to them and their families and urged them to wear their new ranks with pride while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, dedication and integrity in service.
The large-scale promotion exercise reflects the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s commitment to recognising merit, ensuring timely career progression and enhancing the operational effectiveness of its Armed Wing.
