3.5 Magnitude Earthquake Hits J&K; No Damage Reported

Jammu, May 8: A mild earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck Jammu and Kashmir on Friday morning, with its epicentre in Kishtwar district, officials said.

The tremor occurred at around 09:57:54 IST, prompting brief panic in several parts of the Union Territory.

According to officials, the epicentre was located in the Kishtwar region at latitude 33.289 North and longitude 76.739 East, at a depth of 10 kilometres.

No reports of loss of life or damage to property had been received from anywhere in the Union Territory till the filing of this report.
