PM Modi forgives those who abused him, his mother

New Delhi, July 31: In a rare gesture of benevolence towards the youth who indulged in to abusive him, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said he wanted to forgive the children who indulged into used abusive language against him during a Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi.

In a video message shared on X, Modi referred to the controversy and appealed for restraint, constructive engagement and unity.

“I want to forgive the children who abused me,” the Prime Minister said.

Calling for a positive approach, Modi said abuses could not resolve issues and urged people to guide those who may have been misguided.

“Abuses never solve anything. Let’s guide the misguided. Let’s work together. Let’s work for Bharat,” he said.

After being abused by some students at Jantar Mantar, including insults directed at his late mother, PM Modi has chosen forgiveness over punishment. He said these are misguided children who need guidance, not hatred. He appealed to people to stop harassing them, avoid dragging them into legal battles or public humiliation, and instead help show them the right path. Using the example that we don’t break our teeth when they accidentally bite our tongue because both are part of us, he said these children are also our own. He urged them to learn from their mistakes, work towards their dreams, and join in building a stronger India.

The video was shared amid controversy over the alleged use of abusive language against the Prime Minister during the protest at Jantar Mantar.

Modi’s remarks emphasised forgiveness and collective efforts, while appealing for a constructive approach to public and political discourse.
