US Tourist Dies After Falling Ill at Dal Lake Houseboat in Srinagar

Srinagar, May 6: An 83-year-old tourist from the United States died after falling ill during his stay at a houseboat on Dal Lake, officials said on Wednesday.

The deceased, John David Anderson, had arrived in Kashmir with his wife, Judith Anne McCarthy. He reportedly complained of uneasiness late at night and was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the exact cause of death, officials added.
