Women’s Reservation Act to Shape Future, Says PM Modi
by Northlines · NorthlinesNew Delhi, Apr 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said Parliament is set to create “new history” with the proposed amendment to the Women’s Reservation Act for its implementation by 2029.
Addressing the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan’ ahead of a special three-day Parliament session, he said the move would fulfil past visions and future goals of building an egalitarian India rooted in social justice.
Referring to the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, Modi noted that the law, passed unanimously in 2023, had broad political support, with all parties, especially the Opposition, backing its implementation by 2029.
He said the step reflects a commitment to making social justice an integral part of governance and decision-making, rather than just a slogan. (Agencies)
