Srinagar, May 6: Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said Operation Sindoor had delivered results but stressed that wars only bring destruction and cannot offer lasting solutions.

“Operation Sindoor has paid its dividends, but wars do not bring a solution, they only bring misery,” Abdullah told reporters, citing ongoing conflicts in regions like Ukraine and the Middle East as examples of widespread devastation.

The former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister said the global economic situation makes war an unviable option, adding that no country is prepared for large-scale conflict. He warned that continued tensions, especially in oil- and gas-rich regions, could worsen global conditions.

Commenting on recent election outcomes across states, Abdullah said he viewed the results like any observer, referring to developments in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Assam.

On the recent blasts in Punjab, he said such incidents were not new and urged people not to panic.

Responding to criticism from opposition parties in Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullah said it was their role to question the government, asserting that his party would continue to function as per its agenda.
