JKCA Suspends President Javid Ahmed Kitab With Immediate Effect
by Northlines · NorthlinesSrinagar, June 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has suspended its President, Javid Ahmed Kitab, with immediate effect after the association’s Apex Council unanimously approved a resolution removing him from performing his duties, according to an official notification.
The notification said the resolution was circulated among the eligible members of the Apex Council under Rule 23(i) of the JKCA Constitution for consideration and approval. Since the resolution pertained to the conduct and suspension of the President, it was not circulated to Kitab and was instead sent to the remaining nine members of the Council.
Eight of the nine eligible members communicated their approval, while one member did not convey any decision. Consequently, the resolution was deemed passed by an 8-0 majority in accordance with Rule 23(i) read with Rule 48(6) of the JKCA Constitution.
“In terms of the said resolution, Sh. Javid Ahmed Kitab, President, Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association, has been suspended with immediate effect,” the notification stated.
It further said the resolution would carry the same force, validity and effect as if it had been passed at a duly convened meeting of the Apex Council and would be placed before the Council at its next meeting for ratification as required under the Constitution.
The JKCA has directed all its officers, employees, affiliated units and functionaries to take all consequential steps for immediate implementation of the resolution in accordance with the provisions of the association’s Constitution. (Agencies)
