‘120 Ayushman Arogyas operational in Jammu Parli Constituency’

Jammu Tawi, August 8: The Union Government has informed the Lok Sabha that 120 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (AAMs) are operational in the Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, highlighting the expansion of traditional healthcare services and Ayush infrastructure across Jammu and adjoining districts.

Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of AYUSH, Prataprao Jadhav, stated this in a written reply to an Unstarred Question in the Lok Sabha regarding the promotion and development of Ayush systems in Jammu.

According to the reply, the Ministry of AYUSH has been implementing the Centrally Sponsored National Ayush Mission (NAM) since 2014 through State and Union Territory Governments, including Jammu and Kashmir. The scheme provides financial assistance for infrastructure development, medicines and other activities based on proposals submitted through State Annual Action Plans.

The government said 56 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are operational in Jammu district, 14 in Samba, 18 in Reasi and 33 in Rajouri. Major projects include the Government Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital at Akhnoor and a 50-bedded Integrated Ayush Hospital at Nonath in Samba.

The reply also stated that Ayush public health programmes have been implemented across Jammu, Samba, Reasi and Rajouri under various streams, including MSD, Supraja, Ayurvidya and Karunya.

Jammu district has one Ayush hospital, nine dispensaries, two Yoga and Wellness Centres, 56 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and two other Ayush institutions. Samba has 13 Arogya Mandirs, while Reasi and Rajouri have 18 and 33 respectively.

The Centre further said Ayush facilities have been co-located with existing healthcare institutions to provide patients access to different systems of medicine under a single-window arrangement. In the Jammu Parliamentary Constituency, 77 PHCs, two CHCs, four district hospitals and one associated hospital have co-located Ayush facilities.

Ayush services, including free medicines under the National Ayush Mission, are being provided through Ayush doctors and pharmacists engaged under the National Health Mission.
