J&K Govt Transfers 24 BDOs, Orders Immediate Relieving

SRINAGAR, Aug 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the transfer and posting of 24 Block Development Officers (BDOs) and equivalent officials across the Union Territory with immediate effect, according to an order issued by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.

The transfers were ordered under Government Order No. 234-JK(RD&PR) of 2026, dated August 20, 2026. All officers covered by the order have been deemed relieved from their present assignments forthwith.

Among the key postings, Lateef Ahmad Mantoo has been transferred from Block Gurez to Block Kakapora, while Hakeem Auqib Javaid has been moved from Trehgam to Singhopora. Amir Ashraf Rather has been shifted from the ACP Office, Jammu, to Block Verinag and given additional charge of Block Hiller Shahabad.

Amir Hassan has been moved from the Directorate of Rural Sanitation to Block Qazigund, with additional charge of Block Vessu, while Shakeel Ahmad Bhat has been transferred from Shopian to Block Sumbal.

Qadeer Charak has been posted to Block Akhnoor from Surankote, while Mushtaq Ahmad Najar has been shifted from Sumbal to Block Mawar Qalamabad with additional charge of Block Langate.

The order also includes postings in Jammu, Samba, Ramban, Doda, Rajouri, Poonch and other areas. Shalini Chandel has been posted to Gundana from the ACD Office, Ramban, and will assume charge from September 1 following the superannuation of the incumbent.

The reshuffle also covers several headquarters and administrative postings, with the changes aimed at ensuring effective functioning of the Rural Development Department and its field-level establishments across J&K.
