J&K: BSF Jawan Hangs Self To Death In Samba

JAMMU, Mar 16: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan allegedly died by suicide inside a camp in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir early Monday, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Head Constable Hari Babu, a resident of Uttar Pradesh. He was found hanging inside his post at a camp in the Penthi area, the officials said.

Soon after the incident, the body was shifted to a hospital for postmortem and other legal formalities.

Officials said the motive behind the extreme step was not immediately known.

Police have started inquest proceedings and further investigation into the matter is underway. (Agencies)
