ISI-Linked Module Planned Attacks on Temple, Dhaba, Military Camp: Probe
by Northlines · NorthlinesNEW DELHI, May 8: Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI allegedly planned coordinated attacks on a historic temple in Delhi, a busy dhaba on the Delhi-Sonipat highway, and a military camp in Haryana through operatives linked to the Shahzad Bhatti module, sources said on Friday.
The plot surfaced during the interrogation of nine suspected operatives arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell under ‘Gang Bust Operation 2.0’ from multiple states, sources said.
Investigators revealed that one accused conducted reconnaissance of a historic temple in Delhi and shared photographs of the premises with Pakistan-based handlers via social media platforms.
The module allegedly intended to target police and paramilitary personnel deployed at the temple and open fire to trigger panic and disruption, sources added.
The accused were also tasked with carrying out a grenade attack on a popular dhaba along the Delhi-Sonipat highway, frequented by thousands daily, aiming to cause large-scale damage and casualties.
Additionally, a military camp in Hisar was reportedly surveyed, with videos of the area sent to handlers across the border. Some police stations in Uttar Pradesh were also included in the target list, the source said. (Agencies)
