CM Omar Questions Rationale Behind US And Israel Waging ‘Unjust War’ Against Iran

JAMMU, Apr 8: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday questioned the rationale behind the United States and Israel waging what he termed an “unjust war” against Iran, saying the ceasefire has only restored access to the Strait of Hormuz that was already open before the conflict.

“So the ceasefire allows a strait to reopen, a strait that was open and freely available to everyone before the war started. What exactly did this 39-day war achieve for the US? #UnjustWar,” Abdullah said in a post on X.

His remarks come after the United States and Iran agreed to a Pakistan-brokered ceasefire, easing tensions in the region and reopening the key maritime route.

Delegations from Washington and Tehran are expected to meet in Islamabad on Friday for their first direct diplomatic engagement since March 1, aimed at exploring a broader resolution to the conflict.
