A 15-YEAR-OLD boy has been sentenced to two years and three months in youth detention after bringing a knife to Haute Vallée School in revenge for a previous dispute.

The teenager – who cannot be identified because of his age – admitted two offences relating to the incident at the St Helier school on Monday 10 February.

Appearing in the Magistrate’s Court on 17 February, he also pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in St Brelade on 7 February.

The youth further admitted attempting to enter La Haule Manor unlawfully with intent to steal on the same date.

Additional offences included a grave and criminal assault on a man on 6 February, along with the theft of two pairs of sunglasses, a padel racket and a Bluetooth phone adapter from an unattended vehicle later that day.

He also admitted carrying out an assault at McDonald’s in September 2025.

Because of the seriousness of the offences, the case was referred to the Royal Court, where the teenager was sentenced this afternoon.
