Gold Stars regained the advantage shortly after when an own goal by Asante Boaben in the 30th minute handed them a crucial lead heading into the break.

The win lifts Gold Stars back to the summit of the league standings, moving them one point clear with six matches remaining. Their position was aided by Medeama SC dropping points in a draw against Bechem United a day earlier.

Attention now turns to a crucial run-in, with a potentially decisive clash against Medeama still to come. Before that, Gold Stars face a tricky away test against Aduana FC in Dormaa, a fixture that could further shape the title race.

For Nations FC, the defeat deepens their concerns near the bottom of the table. They drop to 14th place, just two points above safety, as the relegation battle intensifies heading into the final stretch of the season.

With Eleven Wonders already relegated and Hohoe United withdrawn from the league, the fight to avoid the final relegation spot remains tight. Nations will now look to respond when they host Basake Holy Stars in their next fixture.
