Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan, the co-writers for the hit Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters, are now writing something new for FX, as they are leading the creative on a new crime drama called A Really Bad Person. As first reported by Deadline, the show is currently in development, with the duo working with Legendary Entertainment and FX Productions, marking their first official network series project. Jimenez and McMechan will also executive produce the show alongside Sharon Hall (The Expanse, Below), David Finkel, and Brett Baer. (Bad Sisters, New Girl).

FX Drips Back Into Crime Dramas With KPop Demon Hunters Duo

According to the small amount of info out there, A Really Bad Person is set to be a drama but will have comedic overtones for "a dramedy feel." The show will follow an average American woman who does something unexpected while visiting London: pretending to be the missing daughter of a British family. The ruse is her last-ditch effort to gain U.K. citizenship and a fresh start in her life, as she attempts to escape her past in an extremely brash way.

The show is a completely different vibe from their other projects. After KPop Demon Hunters went viral and took over the planet, the duo was tapped to write a remake of Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, which is currently in development with Tim Burton, Warner Bros., and LuckyChap. The show joins an interesting lineup of FX-slated projects, which includes a comedy from Jeff Chan and Rob Mac (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) called Hopeless, about National Park rescue volunteers, based on a story in The New Yorker. As well as The Marriage Plot, based on the Jeffrey Eugenides novel of the same name, set to star Sadie Sink; the new drama Seven Sisters featuring Elizabeth Olsen; a TV adaptation of the video game Far Cry, from Noah Hawley and Rob Mac; and a TV adaptation of the Mel Brooks comedy film Young Frankenstein, which is being called Very Young Frankenstein.
