STAR WARS: MAUL — SHADOW LORD Poster Teases a Mysterious New Jedi With a Dark Future

The next chapter in Star Wars is almost here, and it looks like Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord is bringing more than just a deeper dive into one of the franchise’s most dangerous villains.

A newly revealed poster has introduced fans to a fresh face in the Force, and this character might end up being a much bigger deal than anyone expected.

Set to premiere on April 6th on Disney+, Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord follows Darth Maul during a turning point in his life. He begins to see the Empire for what it really is and starts carving out his own power base in the criminal underworld.

Along the way, he’s also searching for an apprentice, someone he can shape as he rebuilds his influence across the galaxy. That’s where Devon Izara enters the picture.

Star Wars revealed the new character with a poster drop on X, teasing fans with the caption: “Devon Izara is no ordinary Jedi.”

Devon Izara is a Twi’lek Jedi Padawan who survived Order 66 and is now on the run from the Empire. That puts her in a desperate, unstable place, but things get even more intense when Maul sets his sights on her. Their paths cross on the planet Janix, where Maul sees potential in her not as an enemy, but as a possible apprentice.

There’s a growing fan theory that Devon Izara could eventually become Darth Talon. If that name rings a bell, it should. In Star Wars Legends, Darth Talon is a red-skinned Twi’lek Sith who serves as one of Maul’s apprentices. The visual similarities are already there, and the story setup lines up almost too perfectly.

Devon starts as a Jedi, but she’s carrying the weight of everything she’s lost. The Jedi Order is gone, her future has been ripped away, and she’s constantly in survival mode.

That kind of emotional pressure can push someone to the edge, especially in Star Wars where the Dark Side thrives on pain and conflict. Maul, of all people, understands that.

With both Maul and Devon sharing a common enemy in the Empire, there’s a believable path for him to manipulate her perspective. He doesn’t just offer power, he offers a way to fight back. For someone who’s been running and hiding, that could be hard to resist.

Devon’s story looks like it’s going to explore what happens when someone tries to hold onto their ideals while everything around them falls apart.

If that Darth Talon theory turns out to be true, fans might be witnessing the origin of one of the most dangerous Sith in the franchise.

Either way, Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord isn’t just bringing Maul back into focus. It’s setting up a story about survival, temptation, and the kind of choices that define who someone becomes.
