Police arrest man over alleged tricycle theft in Bauchi
by Timi Owolabi · Daily PostThe Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man, Sirajo, over the alleged theft of a tricycle in Bauchi metropolis.
The suspect was arrested after a tricycle was reported stolen at the A Division Township Police Station on Monday, September 7, 2026.
The police said detectives attached to the division immediately commenced an investigation following the report, which led to Sirajo’s arrest.
According to the police spokesman, SP Nafiu Habib, the suspect allegedly confessed during interrogation and took detectives to Dumi bush, where the stolen tricycle had been dismantled.

Habib said the police recovered the dismantled parts and transported them to the station, where the tricycle was reassembled.
He said the only missing part discovered was the tarpaulin, adding that efforts were ongoing to identify and locate the rightful owner.
The police spokesman said the suspect would be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the officers for their quick response, urging residents of Bauchi to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the police.
