Bandits plan to launch another attack on Kwara community

by · Daily Post

There is tension in Oro-Ago community of Ifelodun Local Government Area in Kwara State as armed bandits are reported to be regrouping to launch another attack on the community.

DAILY POST reports that the threat alert is based on credible intelligence, according to sources.

However, all security formations have been placed on ‘Red Alert’ to checkmate the planned attack.

Oro-Ago and its environs have witnessed persistent attacks by armed bandits in recent times, leading to killings and abductions.

The planned attack is coming on the heels of the recent one which led to the abduction of eight worshippers in Omugo ECWA Church via Oro-Ago.

Although three abductees escaped, the bandits have placed N1b ransom for the release of the remaining five captives, including the wife of the pastor in charge of the church.

The bandits reportedly rejected the N1m earlier gathered by the community and insisted that the ransom must be completed before the release of the abductees.

No official reaction has been obtained from any of the security agencies at the time of this report.
