Iran executes two men accused of spying for Israel during conflict

Iranian authorities have executed two Iranian nationals accused of providing sensitive military and security information to Israel during the country’s recent conflict with Israel, according to state-controlled media.

The executions followed allegations that the two men transmitted military intelligence, including the coordinates of security-related locations, to persons and organisations allegedly connected to Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency.

Iran’s Mizan news agency published details of the cases alongside footage of the two men and screenshots of messages it claimed were exchanged as part of their alleged activities.

One of the executed men was accused of supplying location coordinates to the administrator of a Telegram channel that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claims has links to Mossad.

The second man was described by Mizan as being among “Netanyahu’s soldiers” and was accused of passing information to Mossad as well as Iran International, a London-based Persian-language news organisation popular among Iranian dissidents abroad.

Tehran has repeatedly accused Iran International of having links to foreign intelligence services, allegations the outlet has denied.

The executions come amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel and renewed scrutiny of alleged espionage activities during the conflict.

Iranian authorities have stepped up efforts to identify and prosecute anyone accused of assisting Israel with intelligence gathering and military targeting.
