Trump pays tribute to late Senator Lindsey Graham, calls him ‘one of the greatest people’
by Chris Johnson · Daily PostU.S. President Donald Trump has paid an emotional tribute to Senator Lindsey Graham following the veteran lawmaker’s sudden death, describing him as one of the finest people and public servants he had ever known.
In a message shared on his Truth Social platform, Trump praised the South Carolina senator’s dedication to public service and his unwavering commitment to the United States.
“Lindsey Graham was one of the greatest people and Senators I have ever known,” Trump wrote. “He was always working, and was a true American patriot. Lindsey will be greatly missed!!!”
The tribute marks the end of a political relationship that evolved dramatically over the past decade.
Graham was among Trump’s fiercest Republican critics during the 2016 presidential campaign, openly questioning his fitness for office.
However, after Trump won the presidency, the two leaders developed a close political alliance. Graham went on to become one of Trump’s most loyal supporters in Congress, frequently defending his administration’s policies and working closely with the White House on major domestic and foreign policy issues.
Their partnership became particularly evident on matters relating to national security, judicial appointments and U.S. foreign policy, with Graham emerging as one of the president’s most influential allies on Capitol Hill.
