Two teenage terrorists escape camp, surrender to troops in Borno 

Two teenage members of a terrorist group have escaped from their camp and surrendered to troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.

The two teenagers, identified as 17-year-old Umar Mohammed and 13-year-old Aliu Hassan, surrendered at about 7:15am on September 4, 2026, at Charlie 7 in Monguno town.

The development was reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to the report, the teenagers had escaped from a terrorist camp in Martab, Marte Local Government Area, before turning themselves in to the troops.

Preliminary interrogation reportedly showed that they left the camp because of harsh living conditions.

“They surrendered with one wristwatch and a catapult,” Makama reported.

The teenagers are in the custody of the Military Intelligence Branch at Headquarters Sector 3, while the recovered items are being held for further investigation.
