A Nigerian family in the United States has been thrown into mourning following a fatal road accident that claimed the lives of a mother and her two children in Texas.

The victims, identified as Nihinloluwa Agoro and her children, Temiloluwa and Isaac, were reportedly heading to church when the crash occurred in Fort Bend County.

Authorities are yet to disclose the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.

The development has sparked reactions back home, with the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, expressing profound grief over the loss.

She described the incident as deeply distressing, noting that the deaths were particularly painful given that the family was on what should have been a routine outing.

In a statement issued by the Commission’s spokesperson, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family as well as the Nigerian community in the United States.

“Our hearts go out to the family at this very difficult time. It is a devastating loss that words can hardly capture,” she said.

She also offered prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased and comfort for their loved ones, while wishing quick recovery to anyone who may have sustained injuries in the accident.

The NiDCOM boss further urged Nigerians, both within the country and in the diaspora, to remain vigilant and adhere to road safety measures to avoid similar tragedies.

She added that the Commission stands in solidarity with Nigerians in Texas and across the United States as they mourn the loss.
