The Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Abayomi Arigbabu, has recommended the use of technology to all States’ Ministries of Education in the federation, examination bodies, schools and education stakeholders, for faster and efficient result.

Arigbabu gave the recommendation during an inspection of the just concluded West African Examination, WASSCE.

He enjoined other states to take a cue from the State Ministry of Education that had consistently carried out its programme with the usage of digital innovation.

The Commissioner, disclosed that learners who had just sat for the just concluded Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and those currently writing promotion examination, would have 50 percent of their objective answers sheets marked with Artificial intelligence (AI) as a practical step to do away with human manipulation and ensure the credibility of the certificate and results.

Arigbabu, who also monitored English Studies at the ongoing Unified Promotion Examination organised by the Ministry and Secondary School Certificate Examination by the National Examination Council, NECO, boldly affirmed that the successful implementation of the Six Pillars of Ogun State Education Revitalisation Agenda, OGSERA, had led to truancy reduction and promoted worthy standards among learners.

He said the accolades received from the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa and commendations from other respected education stakeholders were testaments confirming the commitment and investment of Governor Dapo Abiodun, towards repositioning the entire education sector in the state.

“We have gone round schools and we can see that students were well arranged, examination materials came at adequate time, the schools environment was very calm and peaceful. In all, I want to say that I’m impressed with what was witnessed so far.” Arigbabu said.
