The Accord Party in Osun State is set to formally declare Governor Ademola Adeleke as its candidate for the Osun 2026 governorship election.

The declaration will take place at the Osun State Accord Party governorship primary scheduled for today, Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

This was disclosed by the Osun State party chairman, Pastor Victor Akande, on Wednesday in Osogbo.

Pastor Akande also revealed that Governor Adeleke is the party’s sole candidate.

He added that about 150 delegates would partake in the primary.

“Governor Ademola Adeleke is our sole candidate for the 2026 governorship election. We are declaring him today. As you know, he formally defected to our party in November and we publicly announced him on Tuesday.

“The delegates are five, drawn from each of the 30 local government areas of the state,” Akande stated.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that Governor Adeleke had announced the Accord Party as his new political platform.

This comes as he also confirmed his intention to seek re-election in 2026.

Governor Adeleke made the declaration at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Osogbo in the presence of national and state leaders of the party on Tuesday.

Adeleke stated that he had formally joined the Accord Party on November 6, 2025, after weeks of consultation and deliberations with stakeholders and opinion leaders.
