Ballon d’Or 2026: He’s number one candidate – Diaz on award winner

Colombian international, Luis Diaz has named Bayern Munich striker, Harry Kane as the number one candidate to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

Diaz, who is Kane’s teammate at Bayern Munich, stated this in a recent interview with ESPN.

“For me, he [Kane] is the number one candidate to win it [the Ballon d’Or]. Hopefully, he can achieve it,” Diaz said.

Kane is already among the 30 players shortlisted for this year’s Ballon d’Or after his impressive performances for club and country.

The England international will face strong competition from Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappe for the award.

The winner of the Ballon d’Or will be announced in October, while Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembele won the award last year.
