‘You’re APC mole, can’t bully me’ – Nafiu Bala replies Kwankwaso as ADC crisis deepens

Mr Nafiu Bala Gombe, a factional leader of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has fired back at a former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso over the lingering leadership crisis rocking the party.

DAILY POST reports that ADC, the party housing opposition leaders plotting the removal of President Bola Tinubu in 2027, recently plunged into a leadership tussle.

The unfortunate internal wrangling continues to escalate as Bala and the former Senate President, David Mark-led factions continue to claim leadership of the party.

Kwankwaso, who recently joined ADC ahead of the 2027 polls, had raised concerns that Bala refused to honour his invitation aimed at putting the crisis to rest.

In an interview with DCL Hausa, Kwankwaso, who claimed that Bala is just 35 years old, said the ADC factional leader missed a fatherly advice.

Reacting, Bala dismissed claims about his age and accused the former Kano governor of acting like an APC mole.

Bala warned that Kwankwaso had no business interfering in the party’s leadership tussle, stating that the older members should set aside their ambition and allow the youths to pilot the party’s affairs.

Bala Gombe, said he is not 35 years old as claimed by Kwankwaso, stating that he is 46 years old.

“Even if I am young, Kwankwaso has no right to look down on me,” Bala Gombe said, reminding Kwankwaso that he and many of today’s political leaders were very young when they took up major public offices.

Bala Gombe further advised Kwankwaso and other “oldies” in the political space to emulate the same opportunities they enjoyed in their youth by stepping aside for the younger generation.

“They should allow youths to steer the affairs of our parties and the country while they play advisory roles,” he declared.

He recalled that in 2023, former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and other northern leaders mobilised Arewa elders to prevail on Kwankwaso to step down for the sake of Arewa votes, but Kwankwaso refused.

“Having refused to step down then, he has no moral justification to bully or advise me on the injustice being done to me by impostors in the ADC. Nobody can bully me,” Bala Gombe said.
