One killed, two injured in Bauchi community clash
by Hadiza Musa · Daily PostOne person has been killed and two others injured following a clash between armed men and residents of Unguwan Marke area in Munsal Ward, Liman Katagum District of Bauchi Local Government Area.
The incident, which was contained in a post shared on X on Sunday night by security analyst, Zagazola Makama, was said to have occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
According to the report, a group of armed men, allegedly posing as members of a hunters’ association, stormed the community and attempted to remove the roof of a building belonging to one Isah Garba from Balakum village in Alkaleri Local Government Area.
Trouble started when some youths in the area confronted the group, leading to an exchange that quickly turned violent.
“The situation escalated when the youths challenged them, and the armed men opened fire,” the post stated.
During the attack, Sani Hassan was shot in the leg, while another victim, identified as Garba from Shinge village, sustained gunshot injury to his hand. A third victim, Mubarak Adamu, was shot and died on the spot.
Police operatives later moved the victims to the Specialist Hospital in Bauchi, where a doctor confirmed Adamu dead. His body was subsequently released to his family for burial.
Sources said the armed men claimed they were acting on an eviction order allegedly issued by a High Court in Bauchi, though the legality of the claim and their use of firearms remain under investigation.
Security authorities have since launched investigation to identify and arrest those involved in the incident.
