2027: It’s Nigerians versus APC-led govt — Peter Obi
by Seun Opejobi · Daily PostThe Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said the 2027 general election will be a contest between Nigerians and the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government.
Obi said the 2027 election would not be like the 2023 poll, when Nigerians believed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who, according to Obi, “worked for the opposite.”
In an interview with Arise Television aired on Thursday, the NDC presidential candidate stressed that Nigerians would ensure that the right thing is done in 2027.
According to Obi: “This election, remember, is not about parties but it’s the people versus the government. Nigeria must get it right this time. In 2023, we took things for granted and we believed INEC. We believed that what they were saying they would do because the chairman then was busy jumping all over the world, telling the world that he and his team were prepared to do the right thing when he was actually working for the opposite.
