Kebbi: Hisbah arrests 25 youths in hotel raid over alleged immoral acts
by Mikal Attah · Daily PostOperatives of the Kebbi State Hisbah Board have arrested 25 youths during a raid on a hotel in Argungu Local Government Area over alleged involvement in immoral acts.
The Director of Shariah of the board, Sirajo Kamba, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Saturday in Birnin Kebbi.
According to Kamba, the operation was carried out on July 3 as part of the board’s ongoing efforts to curb social vices and promote moral values across the state.
He said the raid led to the arrest of 25 suspects, comprising 12 males and 13 females.
“On July 3, the Kebbi Hisbah Board carried out a raid at a hotel in Argungu and successfully apprehended 25 suspects allegedly involved in immoral activities,” Kamba said.
He added that the suspects would be investigated in accordance with the law and that anyone found culpable would be subjected to the appropriate legal process.
Kamba noted that the operation forms part of measures aimed at maintaining public decency, peace and social order in the state.
The Hisbah Board said investigations into the matter are ongoing.
