US assured Hamas it would ensure Israel complies with disarmament deal – Report
by Chris Johnson · Daily PostThe United States reportedly assured Hamas through international mediators that it would ensure Israel adheres to the terms of a proposed disarmament agreement, according to a report by Al Arabiya.
Citing unnamed sources familiar with the discussions, the report said a senior US official joined a recent meeting with Hamas negotiators by phone, where the official reaffirmed Washington’s commitment to the proposed framework.
According to the sources, the US official told Hamas representatives that if the group fulfills its obligations under the agreement, the United States would press Israel to fully implement its commitments, including the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza as outlined in the deal.
The report comes amid ongoing diplomatic efforts by regional and international mediators to secure a ceasefire and advance negotiations aimed at ending the conflict.
Neither the United States nor Israel has publicly confirmed the reported assurances.
