Residents of Oluyole Local Government Area in Oyo State are currently in a state of confusion over who is the authentic winner of the House of Representatives primary election ticket on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the Oluyole Federal Constituency.

DAILY POST reports that the primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections in the party was conducted on Saturday.

It was learnt that the election was conducted in all the electoral wards that make up the federal constituency.

DAILY POST gathered that six aspirants were cleared for the primary election.

The six aspirants are a former chairman of the local government area, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan; a former Special Adviser to the immediate past governor of the state, Abiola Ajimobi, Hon. Abiodun Gbolagade; and a former occupant of the seat, Hon. Sumbo Olugbemi.

Others are the incumbent occupant, Hon. Tolu Akande-Sadipe, Mr. Jide Adewale, and Mr. Mumini Tajudeen.

DAILY POST, however, gathered that four aspirants who contested in the primary are currently laying claim to winning the election.

The four aspirants came up with different election results to back their claims.

Our correspondent gathered that since Saturday, the four aspirants, among whom are Olaosebikan, Gbolagade, Olugbemi, and Akande-Sadipe, have been going around claiming victory in the election.

Olaosebikan and his supporters across the federal constituency have been jubilating, claiming he won the primary election.

Olaosebikan noted that the results in his possession confirmed that he won the election.

It was learnt that Gbolagade and his supporters are also jubilating because he claimed to have won the election. He also disclosed that he won the election based on the results in his custody.

Olugbemi has also been going around thanking the people, claiming he won the election. He stated that he won the election based on the results presented to him.

In the same vein, Akande-Sadipe has also claimed she won the election. She added that she won the election based on the available results.

A member of the party in the federal constituency who begged not to be named said that the party caused the confusion.

The APC chieftain noted that parallel primaries were held, and this made the aspirants who declared themselves winners do so.

The APC chieftain, who spoke with DAILY POST on Sunday, said, “It was the party that caused it. The party is disorganised. It was the party that caused it.

“That made everyone do his own separately. Four aspirants are laying claim to having won the primary. That is how we see it. The leadership is so weak. It is a serious thing.”

DAILY POST reports that, as of the time of filing this report on Sunday, four aspirants are currently laying claim to winning the primary election.
