Police arrest four suspects over allege criminal conspiracy in Adamawa
by Amos Tauna · Daily PostFour suspects have been apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge in the Specialist Hospital area of Yola in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, possession of dangerous weapons, criminal trespass and robbery.
The suspects are identified by the police as Elkana Ishaya, Mubarak Abubakar, Musa Umar and Kabiru Tanko.
The arrest of the four suspects followed investigation by the police personnel attached to Karewa Area Command and recovery of four mobile phones stolen from the victims.
A report from the command said, “The incident occurred on June 27 at the the place, popularly called Corpers’ Lodge situated within Specialist Hospital, Jimeta, where the suspects, armed with dangerous weapons, criminally trespassed into the building and robbed about 36 corps members of their valuables, including mobile phones.”
The report explained that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigation, assuring that with the ongoing investigation, more stolen phones and arrest of other members of the gang still at large is expected to be made.
Kabir Hassan, the Commissioner of Police, reassured members of the public, particularly corps members of its commitment to the protection of lives and property for people to go about their normal businesses.
He advised residents to promptly report suspicious persons and movements to the nearest Police Station for proper action in order to free the society from criminality.
