‘I’m not Obidient or Kwankwasiyya but NDC’ – Seriake Dickson

The national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Seriake Dickson, has declared that he is neither a member of the Obidient nor Kwankwasiyya movement.

Speaking during an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’ on Wednesday, Dickson said he is only a member of the NDC.

He said that although the Obidient and Kwankwasiyya groups have their distinct identities and are free to operate independently, their principals are the NDC’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2027 election.

“First of all, I’m not a member of Kwankwasiyya, and I’m not a member of Obidient. I’m NDC. These candidates (Peter Obi and Kwankwaso) and other candidates, none of them are running as independents, they are running on the NDC.

“I have held several meetings with them and even before now, we used to meet over the years. We have been colleagues and partners and friends. Sometimes in the same camp, in the same party, other times in different parties, but we’re always meeting and comparing notes.

“So it’s not strange working together on this. We have a partnership that is committed to winning the next elections, that is the most important thing.

“So at this point, we expect everyone to go to the field, make the case to the Nigerian people. There are no internal battles to fight in the NDC. The next stage of the battle strategically is to win the election,” he said.
