Delta Speaker charges new member to advance legislation 

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, has urged the new member representing Udu State Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon.

Arthur Okolosi, to work closely with his colleagues in advancing legislation and initiatives that would promote the development and wellbeing of the people of Udu State Constituency and Delta State.

He stated this on Tuesday during Okolosi’s inauguration, following his victory in the Udu State Constituency bye-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on September 19, 2026.

Guwor administered the Oath of Allegiance and Oath of Membership to Okolosi during Tuesday’s plenary.

The swearing-in was conducted in accordance with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as amended, and the Standing Orders of the House.

Welcoming the new lawmaker, Guwor congratulated Okolosi on his electoral victory and subsequent inauguration, assuring him of the cooperation of other members of the Assembly.

Okolosi emerged as the winner of the bye-election held to fill the seat declared vacant by the DSHA on July 30, 2026.

With his inauguration, Okolosi becomes a member of the eighth DSHA and is expected to participate fully in legislative proceedings and represent the interests of his constituents.
