Ekiti Police arrests four suspects, recover suspected stolen items
by Emmanuel Ani · Daily PostThe Ekiti State Police Command has arrested four suspected burglars during an intelligence-led raid on a suspected criminal hideout in Omisanjana, Ado-Ekiti and recovered a large quantity of items reasonably suspected to be proceeds of burglary and stealing.
This was contained in a statement signed and made available to journalists by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu.
The statement read, “Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of the Ado Central Division raided a suspected criminal hideout at Omisanjana, Ado-Ekiti, in the early hours of Sunday, 5th July, 2026. During the operation, four suspects were arrested. They are: Abdurazak Suleiman ’39yrs’, John Okori ’27yrs’, Francis Okori ’32yrs’, and Kehinde Alabi ’30yrs’, all residents of Omisanjana, Ado-Ekiti.

“A search of the premises led to the recovery of numerous items suspected to have been stolen from various shops, including assorted perfumes, bathing soaps, alcoholic beverages, food items, body care products, cotton materials, clothing, a school bag, a 3kg gas cylinder, and a big hammer suspected to have been used for shop-breaking operations.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects lived together in the same apartment. Further intelligence gathered at the scene linked them to a recent burglary of a shop located at Ekute Quarters, Ado-Ekiti, near the Water Works construction site, where some of the suspects were reportedly engaged as labourers.
“Efforts are ongoing to trace the owner of the burgled shop and other possible victims for the identification and recovery of their properties, while a comprehensive investigation has commenced to establish the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in burglary and other criminal activities.
“The State Commissioner of Police, CP FALADE ADEGOROYE MICHEAL, reaffirms the Command’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-led policing aimed at protecting lives and property across the State, while also encouraging residents to continue providing timely and credible information, assuring them that all information received will be treated with the utmost confidentiality”.
