Troops arrest suspected terrorist logistics supplier in Niger
by Hadiza Musa · Daily PostTroops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected logistics supplier for terrorists in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The development was contained in a post shared on Thursday by security analyst, Zagazola Makama.
According to the post, the suspect was arrested by troops of the 22 Brigade under Operation Savannah Shield during a patrol around the Dekara axis.
“The arrest reportedly took place at about 5:30 p.m. on April 27 by troops operating from the Forward Operating Base in Babanna,”Makama said.
Security sources said items recovered from the suspect included three jerrycans of red oil, two bags of beans, one carton of electrodes, and the sum of ₦243,000.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspect was allegedly involved in transporting supplies from Babanna to Dekara village for suspected terrorist elements operating in the area.
The sources added that the suspect is currently in military custody and undergoing further interrogation, with efforts ongoing to determine the full extent of the operation and possible prosecution.
