Police assure residents of security ahead of Easter celebrations in Osun

Osun State Police Command has extended warm Easter greetings to all Christian faithful across the state while assuring residents of enhanced security during the festive period.

A statement released on Thursday and signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, described the Easter season as a time of reflection, sacrifice, and renewal.

The statement highlighted that the police command has implemented robust security arrangements to protect lives and property before, during, and after the celebrations.

“Personnel have been strategically deployed to churches, recreational facilities, major highways, and other public spaces to prevent any breach of peace and ensure a smooth and safe Easter celebration,” the release stated.

Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, mnips, directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Units to intensify patrols, visibility policing, and intelligence-gathering operations throughout the festive period.

The command emphasized that officers are expected to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and courtesy while performing their duties.

Members of the public were urged to stay alert, cooperate with security agencies, and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.

Parents and guardians were further advised to closely supervise their wards and discourage unlawful conduct.

The statement reaffirmed the police command’s commitment to ensuring a peaceful and crime-free Easter celebration for all residents, while wishing Christian faithful a joyous and safe festive season.
