1. Israel today launched a new wave of strikes on Tehran after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran was being “decimated”, and as Gulf nations faced a fresh set of attacks.

Tech layoffs

2. Amazon Web Services is moving ahead with 350 redundancies to its Irish workforce, after a global restructuring plan to cut 16,000 roles was announced last month.

‘Right to be Forgotten’

3. The Government is set to reduce the remission period for cancer survivors seeking mortgage protection from seven years to five years.

4. Gardaí have charged a teenager in connection with an investigation into a hit-and-run in which 33-year-old Áine O’Reilly was killed in Co Limerick last month.

Meningitis

5. The father of an 18-year-old girl who died following an outbreak of meningitis in Kent said his family’s devastation is “immeasurable” as he called for better protection for young people.

Weather

6. We are in for what’s been described by forecaster Met Éireann as a “pleasant” day but unsettled weather is in store for next week.

Fuel prices

7. Transport Minister Darragh O’Brien yesterday said a government intervention aimed at reducing fuel prices will be voted on in the Dáil and put in place next week, once it is approved by cabinet next Tuesday.

8. The Suir Road Luas stop is “closed until further notice” following an assault last night, with the scene preserved for a technical examination.

9. In what could prove to be a good omen, Troy Parrott scored against Czech opposition in Prague last night, as he helped AZ Alkmaar into the Conference League quarter-finals ahead of Ireland’s World Cup play-off next week.
