In our Morning lead, The Journal Investigates reports that an internal audit has found that the HSE section tasked with ensuring compliance with health and safety standards is falling short of its targets, with a high risk that “identified issues may not be properly addressed, potentially leading to serious incidents or injuries”.

US to guide ships through Hormuz

2. Donald Trump has said that “very positive discussions” were underway with Iran on finding a solution to the war, but nevertheless added US forces will soon start escorting ships out of the blocked Strait of Hormuz.

3. Taoiseach Micheál Martin is in Armenia today for a meeting of the European Political Community (EPC), joining around 50 leaders from across the continent as well as Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
