Three Irish people killed in Spain collision

THREE IRISH PEOPLE have died after a collision in Spain on Sunday.

The collision happened in the early hours of the morning, at around 2.40am in Malaga.

Local media reported that two vehicles collided and one of the cars plunged around 100ft down an embankment while travelling on the A-7 motorway towards Almeria.

Two women and one man died in the collision, and two others were injured.

Local media have reported that Guardia Civil officers were deployed to the scene and have taken charge of the investigation.

The fire service also attended to free those trapped in vehicles.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said it is aware of the incident and that it is providing consular assistance to the families involved.
