A report on Variety has suggested that Star Wars Battlefront 3 is in production at EA, with Respawn and DICE working together on the project.

EA staff were sent a memo from Cam Weber, president and chief studios officer, and David Tinson, president and COO. In it they say :

“In our Shooters business, Battlefield 6 was a great success, and we learned a lot from the launch and the live service. We’re going to take those learnings, balance our resources, and leverage the technology to deliver a shooter portfolio that unlocks growth. In addition to our future Battlefield titles, we’ll be bringing together our Respawn and DICE studios to collaborate on a future project that will help us achieve that ambition. We can’t wait to share more when the time comes.”

According to Variety, multiple sources have confirmed that the game will be Star Wars Battlefront 3 for Lucasfilm.

This won’t be the first time they have had a stab at the game, way back in 2012 a job listing strongly suggested that Spark Unlimited, the developers behind Call Of Duty: Finest Hour, were working on the project.

The memo also confirms that Iron Man and the next Star Wars Jedi game are still being made and they are  “two huge launches.”

Over at EA Sports two new games were revealed:  “a brand-new, social-first open-world experience for our American Football team that we call “Project Gridiron,” and we are also in pre-production to bring back a beloved, fan-favorite in Fight Night, leveraging capabilities from our simulation fighting team.”

Meanwhile, in the world of The Sims, it’s good news and bad news,  Project Evergreen, the next big Sims game is being prioritised, while Project Lotus, a multiplayer mobile title, is being shelved for the moment.
