Reclaim a wounded planet in cosy management game BioEden – demo now on Steam
by Stefan L · tsaFocus and developer Broken Arms Games have revealed BioEden, a cosy take on an ecologically-minded management game. BioEden is set to launch on 3rd September for PC, and a demo is available now. It will eventually also come to PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2.
BioEden tasks you with bringing life back to a wasteland planet known as Earth, having been entrusted by the Cosmic Collective to heal this world so that they might learn from the mistakes that led to its ecological collapse. Sound familiar?
Starting with a habitat dome, you’ll branch out to create a power grid, build water purifiers, recycle and reclaim materials from ruins, and then repurpose it to push back the decay. But within the dome, you’re rearing once extinct animals, providing them with the core habitat needs for them to reproduce and thrive, whether it’s needing certain bushes and food, or a more customised climate. Broken Arms has created some great Earth-alike animals that make cute creature hybrids and quirky differences to their real world. The owl-lemur is very cute.
The BioEden demo gives you full access to the tutorial character, giving a taste of what’s to come in the full game and learn how resource management, exploration, animal husbandry all works, while still trying to maintain balance.
