Trump Speech LIVE Updates: US President Donald Trump is addressing joint session of Congress at the House of Chamber today. The address is his first major speech to lawmakers since returning to office in January 2025.

Republicans began chanting "USA", and he received loud applause and a standing ovation. Trump began his speech saying ‘America is back.’ Trump is expected to lay out his vision in office for the next four years during an address today to the joint session of Congress shortly. 

Trump's address comes as the administration is seeking to reshape the functioning of the federal government, crack down on illegal immigration and impose sweeping tariffs on countries marking one of the most significant trade escalations in modern US history. 

Less than two months into office, Trump has already followed through on his threat to impose tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China. In another major decision, Trump administration has also announced cut government spending on Ukraine after the President's public showdown with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Oval office recently. 

Where will Trump deliver his address?

President Trump will deliver his speech in the House chamber. Four years ago, the same room was witness to unprecedented visuals when lawmakers ducked for cover as a mob of Trump supporters rampaged through the Capitol to stop the certification of the 2020 election, which he lost to Democrat Joe Biden.
