Activists of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) vandalised the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party office in Bhuvanagiri on Saturday.

The attack is a reaction to the alleged abusive comments of BRS district president Kancherla Ramakrishna Reddy against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. The NSUI activists vandalised the BRS office and later staged a dharna there warning that abusing the Chief Minister would not be tolerated.

Videos of the incident shared on social media platforms showed the NSUI workers tearing down the party banners and also damaging the furniture. The police took the NSUI activists into custody.

BRS condemns attack

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao alleged that the attack was carried out unable to counter the issues being raised by the BRS, particularly on the failures of the government in keeping the promises made before the elections.

Former ministers T. Harish Rao and V. Prashanth Reddy, party MLC K. Kavitha and several other leaders of BRS cautioned the ruling party against resorting to such attacks or else the BRS activists too would retaliate. They accused the ruling party of practising hooliganism and grooming its youth and student wings for attacks on political rivals.
