Formula E Race deal: Bandi Sanjay finds fault with KTR; accuses Congress, BRS of enacting ‘political dramas’
by The Hindu Bureau · The HinduUnion Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will continue its struggle against the “corruption” of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders and relentlessly expose the ‘political dramas’ of both the Congress and the BRS.
Speaking to reporters in Karimnagar on Friday (January 11, 2025), Mr. Sanjay slammed the BRS working president and former Minister K.T. Rama Rao over the issue of Formula E Race.
Finding fault with Mr. Rama Rao, the then Municipal Administration Minister in the previous BRS government, Mr. Sanjay questioned the necessity of ‘paying’ crores of Rupees in Formula E Race deal without Cabinet approval during the BRS rule.
He asked, “Why was the money released without the Finance Department’s approval? Why are they pretending to have made a profit of ₹700 crore?. “If you have the courage, show the figures and tell the public where that ₹700 crore came from,” he said.
He further questioned the “lack of urgency” in releasing funds for fee reimbursement and health schemes by the persons at the helm in the previous BRS dispensation.
Mr. Sanjay accused the ruling Congress of playing a “puppet role” in handling the farm house drug case, phone tapping case, “irregularities” in the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project and Dharani land matters, among other corruption cases allegedly involving the BRS leaders.
He further asked, “Why is Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy not responding when KTR is insulting him by using words such as “Puppet CM” and “Chitti Naidu.”
